This year’s Foster Care Fortnight™ takes place between 10-23 May. This is The Fostering Network’s annual commitment to raise awareness of fostering and to celebrate the foster care community.

As members of The Fostering Network, we are happy to get involved with Foster Care Fortnight each year to encourage the whole country to learn more about foster care in their community and to help spread the word.

This year’s theme is #WhyWeCare. Ultimately, it’s about the whole community that cares about children’s lives all getting together to tell everyone #WhyWeCare.

By raising awareness in such a focussed way throughout the fortnight it really sheds light on the foster care community. It helps to encourage more people to find out about fostering and to even start their application process to become a foster carer.

So, if you see us sharing news about Foster Care Fortnight™ on social media then get involved and share our posts to help spread the word about fostering.

Follow OwnLife Fostering on Facebook and Twitter as well as The Fostering Network (@fosteringnet).

Read and share the stories being posted from dedicated foster carers and children in foster care. And, also let people know that OwnLife Fostering is recruiting foster carers in all London Boroughs.

Use the campaign hashtags to reach more people with this important message: #WhyWeCare and #FCF21.

 About Foster Care Fortnight

Foster Care Fortnight™ is the UK’s biggest foster care awareness raising campaign by The Fostering Network which showcases the commitment, passion and dedication of foster carers. As well as to highlight the need for more foster carers.

Thousands of new foster families are needed every year to care for children, with the greatest need being for foster carers for teenagers, sibling groups and unaccompanied asylum-seeking children.
